Training services for schools
Strathclyde offers customised training sessions on internet safety
for teachers, parents and pupils.
The
following two basic programs are designed for teachers and pupils.
Web-Safe Seminar
(Teachers). This is a seminar designed to inform teachers of
all levels about the risks young children and teenagers are
facing when using the internet, their email, chat-rooms, Instant
Messengers and Social Networking sites. This seminar also
informs teachers about how up-to-date students can by-pass
safety controls and internet blocks, in order to see "blocked"
websites. It will also show how easy it is for people to
download pirate software, pornographic material and child
pornography.
Web-Safe
Seminar (Pupils). This seminar is for school students, that
need to be alerted on the risks of using the internet and on the
ways they can protect themselves or their friends.
Post-Event Management. If your school or one of your
pupils has been a victim of an internet related crime, we can offer
you advice on how to deal with it, how to communicate it to parents
and children and how to use your experience to learn and avoid
future incidents.
