Sexting Strathclyde Forensics on LinkedIn

Sexting is the act of sending naked or sexually explicit photos to someone through a mobile phone. The mode of sending is called MMS. Sexting can be part of a flirting or erotic activity but often it is unsolicited and unwanted. In that case it is an offence.

Sexting messages can be retrieved with common mobile forensic procedures.

Strathclyde Forensics has worked in cases involving sexting.

The most famous of these cases is that of former Celtic Footballer, Artur Boruc. Mr Boruc was wrongly accussed that he sent sexually explicit photos to a girl in Glasgow. After thorough examination, we determined that the photos were not sent by Mr Boruc, and as a result the News of The World paid damages and issued an apology.
