Unix &
Linux forensics
Not every computer
uses Windows (even if it looks like it). One of the oldest and most
stable operating systems is UNIX. Truth be told, there would be
no internet today if it was not for Unix. One of the most widely
available version is SCO UNIX, which spans a few decades of
history and contribution.
To
investigate computers with other operating systems, you need to have
specialised knowledge, and usually a network of experts that can cover
each and every eventuality.
Strathclyde Forensics is focusing in an extended network of
co-operations that allow us to cater for the needs of every different
client.

Linux is the natural continuation of Unix. Its open source
philosophy is making it more and more popular, especially with young IT
professionals but with businesses as well. Controversial in its nature,
but free and open to intervention, it is gaining a significant market
share. However, its open source nature and lack of strict standards,
makes it sometimes difficult to retrieve information.
